Welcome Springtime!

While we are privileged to live in a region where we enjoy some of the most breathtaking winter scenery most can only imagine, by this time of the year even the most avid winter enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the warm spring weather. For most of us, the short days of winter and lack of sunshine and vitamin D has taken its toll, leaving us feeling depressed and unmotivated.

However, the prospect of long warm days beaming with sunshine and blooms of spring flowers and BBQs with family and friends are enough to bring us out of our winter slump. This is why spring is undeniably my favorite of the four seasons.

This is the time of year when nature emerges from its dormant state and comes alive with lush foliage and a new generation of woodland creatures. It is the time of year when friends and neighbors surface from the seclusion of their homes and children can be heard laughing and playing outside. It is the time of year when everyone seems to have an extra bounce in their step and a few extra smiles to share. Spring is a time of rejuvenation and rebirth.

For most of us, the first order of business will be spring cleaning. As you begin to clear your gardens and sheds of debris and clutter, take the time to also discard all of the mental and emotional clutter as well. Follow natures lead and use this spring season as a time of rebirth and rejuvenation. Use each day to grow and flourish mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Approach each day with a positive new attitude and make time to do the things you enjoy. Follow this simple piece of advice and I promise you will be happier and healthier.

Enjoy this spring season and all that it has to offer. Whether you enjoy gardening, water sports or casual walks on the beach, take a moment to look around and appreciate what a wonderful season spring truly is.
