Simple Remedies to Stay Healthy and Happy over the Winter

Both the cold and flu are caused by a virus. A cold usually causes congestion, coughing and sneezing. The flu causes fever, body ache, headaches, extreme tiredness and weakness.

Now that we are in cold and flu season it is important to support your immune system. Have a good whole food natural diet, get a good eight hours of sleep each night, and walk outside for exercise and fresh air. Wash hands regularly with soap and sneeze and cough into your sleeve. Supplement with a good multivitamin to ensure adequate nutrition and take extra vitamin C.

When you start to feel a cold increase your Vitamin C to every hour (take less if you experience loose bowels). To shorten and help relieve the effects of the viruses the following natural supplements and herbs may be added: Zinc, Echinacea, Astragalus, Olive Leaf, Goldenseal, and homeopathic remedies.
