Red Ginseng, “The Elixir of Life”, and it is 100% Canadian!
Ginseng has been grown in parts of Asia for 3000 years and is used as a traditional medicine. It is called the "elixir of life" and if taken regularly, is said to reduce stress, increase physical stamina, quiet the nerves, enhance blood flow and increase longevity.
What is little known is Panax Quinquefolium, also known as Korean Red Ginseng, is actually native to North America. Ginseng was first discovered by Jesuit priests in Ontario near Lake Huron in the early 1700's. By 1716, the first shipment of root to China began, initiating the high respect that the Asia has for Ontario-grown ginsengs.
Ginseng has long been used as a remedy in Asia and as a stimulating tea, and regarded for centuries by the Chinese as cure-all preventative for illness.
Ontario is where the ginseng industry began. Canadian ginseng grown in Ontario is well known for its unmistakable quality and its distinct potent taste, making it the most desirable root in North America. Southern Ontario is the largest producer in all of Canada.
One of the most popular and sensational uses of red ginseng in both ancient and modern times has been as a natural sexual stimulant for men. Studies have shown major improvement within eight weeks of supplementation.
In a study conducted at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital in Seoul in 2001, researchers tested red ginseng on lung tumors in mice. They concluded there are several compounds in ginseng that have anti-carcinogenic properties.
In an article published in the November 2008 Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Korean researchers concluded that red ginseng stimulates insulin production in rat pancreases.
Korean red ginseng is known to possibly help prevent memory loss, reducing symptoms of attention deficit disorder in children, boost the immune system to prevent colds and flus, and help prevent heart disorders.

Ginseng is available in capsules, drinks, powder, slices and teas.
Thank you again Mother Nature for this natural energizer and immune system builder!
