It’s Time for Cleansing and Detoxification

Cleansing should be done at least twice a year to keep our bodies functioning optimally. Think of “oil changes” and “tune-ups” that we give our cars to keep them clean on the inside and help them to perform at their best. Our body is an extremely high-functioning amazing machine that also needs cleaning on the inside.

Cleansing and detoxification is a natural process of eliminating toxins from the body right to cellular level. Naturally our body has seven channels of elimination – liver, lungs, kidneys, colon, lymphatics, blood and skin. Our body tries to eliminate all toxins through these channels, but with all the chemicals that bombard us (processed foods, drinks, air pollution, chemicals in water, medications) daily we need to help the detoxification process.

Some signs that we need to detox are: food allergies and sensitivities; reoccurring sinus issues; slow metabolism; headaches; allergies; respiratory problems; insomnia; moodiness; constipation and joint pain. These are warning signs that may lead to bigger issues.

One of the best ways to detoxify the body is with herbal cleansing programs. These are simple and effective programs that range from a few days to a month. The longer you cleanse the more effective it will be on your body. Herbal cleansing does not mean you have to alter your lifestyle as they will be effective regardless, but increase your spring water intake and trying to include more whole foods will make it more effective.
