Innisfil Scope

Menopause. This is another phase of the women’s life – the end of offspring producing years. Menopause is defined as one straight year without periods (menses). There are many physical changes you might expect at this time including ‘hot flashes’, mood swings, memory loss and emotional upheaval that can occur as a direct result of the body’s decreased production of estrogen.
There are many natural ways to ease through this life change. Eating a healthy, balanced diet is always important, but essential at menopause. A good quality multi-vitamin will supplement the diet, ensuring your daily vitamin and minerals and help ease the symptoms.
There are several herbs for long-term help with menopause. Relief is achieved by balancing and toning the hormonal system. A few of the herbs for menopause such as vitex (chasteberry) and dong quai (Chinese angelica), which balance the pituitary gland, and black cohosh and red clover blossoms, which contain plant hormones that can act as herbal hormone therapy are very useful. There are great formulas with many herbs available. Also, daily mild internal cleanses like chlorophyll may help in hot-flash reduction.
The female body is an amazing creation mentally and physically! Women are strong, compassionate, caregivers, and women give life. Menopause is not an illness or disease, but another phase of this life. Take care of your beautiful body and embrace the next part of life, menses-free!
